MR House

Located in the Sintra environment, where greenery is dominant and the climate is cool, this single-family residence embraces its natural surroundings. The brick façade, with its warm and rough texture, seeks a dialogue with the raw and imperfect nature. The otherwise closed and contained volume has mass subtracted to create highlighted spaces directly connected to the living experience. Inside, a double-height ceiling and large glazed openings flood the interior with light. The fragmented garden, composed of a series of platforms, connects with the surrounding streets, reflecting a concern for urban integration and establishing a relationship between the house and its urban context.
